This 1,240 square foot museum has been completely renovated and now features state-of the-art displays and videos. Over 600 attended the Quilt Show during the 2017 Fall Foliage Festival, where 80 vintage quilts were on display in the Gallery Room. Scheduled visits from retirement centers and churches are welcomed throughout the year.
The Gallery Room is available for parties and meetings and is used by oil field companies monthly for safety meetings. Scheduled events include Texas A&M AgriLife Beef Cattle Conference, wedding dress exhibit, photography contest and exhibits, children’s camp, and local artist exhibits. Student outreach is a priority. Orphan Train, a sponsored program, reached 80 4th graders at Baker School in Canadian and another 65 in the museum. The museum sponsors the Staff is currently creating educational backpacks for young visitors to use as they tour.
