Arrington Ranch House Lodge

Welcome to our Ranch!
We invite you to come and enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, or ranching lifestyle and the comforts of our Lodge. Captain George Washington Arrington, a Texas Ranger, stationed at nearby Fort Elliot, built the home, just down the road from the wild and wooly frontier town of Mobeetie, where he also served as sheriff. The house was ordered from the Van Tein catalog, delivered by railroad, moved in pieces by wagon the last ten miles, and set up on the prairie in 1919. Today the house welcomes visitors to the remote ranch and recently starred in the new Tom Hanks movie "Cast Away".

Arrington Ranch
The Arrington Ranch’s location in the Texas Prairie Rivers Country, adjacent to the Washitia River, offers abundant bird & wildlife watching and hiking for our guests. Days can be as full as you wish and evening offers special treats, beautiful sunsets, heavens full of stars, a retreat where you can view the next eclipse and lots of peace and quiet.
